FAQ

Why we start with a fitting
Come in and try it on.
When you drop off your clothes, I prefer to have you try them on in my fitting room. Everything is pinned so you can feel how it will fit when it’s complete. It’s the best way to get a perfectly tailored fit.
Booking & fittings
How do I book a fitting?
I work by appointment only. Text 402-570-7703 or email ntailorlincoln@gmail.com to choose a time that works for you, or send a request online.
When should I schedule my first fitting?
Alterations take time, so schedule your first wedding gown fitting 12 weeks before your wedding day. Try the fitting planner to see your dates.
How many fittings do I need for a wedding gown?
Typically three. At the first fitting, I pin what needs to be altered and show you different options for the bustle. At the second, I double-check the work before finishing the alterations. By the third, everything is sewn and ready to pick up.
How long does a wedding dress fitting take?
Allow about 30 to 45 minutes for your first fitting. Each fitting after that should take 30 minutes or less.
Is there a rush fee?
I don’t like to charge a rush fee. Unexpected things happen, like a delayed gown shipment or a suit needed for a funeral, and I know that can be very stressful. Please text me to discuss. I’ll help if I’m available, and if not, I can refer you to another trusted seamstress.
Where is the studio?
4535 Normal Blvd, Suite 205, Lincoln, NE 68506. You can get directions in Google Maps.
What to bring
What do I bring for a gown or a suit?
For a wedding or formal gown, bring your gown, your shoes, and any undergarments you plan to wear for the occasion. If you’d like changes like adding straps or sleeves or changing the neckline, bring a photo of your idea. You’re welcome to bring a best friend or someone you trust for a second opinion. For a suit, bring your shoes, and your belt if you wear one.
Payment & guarantee
What if I’m not happy with the outcome?
I guarantee all my work to your approval. That’s why it’s important to be professionally fitted and measured at drop-off: the pins show you how the garment will fit when it’s finished, and I always leave enough fabric to accommodate changes. My work is not complete until you’re happy. Of course, it’s impossible to please everyone, but I will do all I can.
When do I pay for alterations?
Payment is normally due at pickup. For wedding gowns, I ask for a deposit of half at the second fitting and the balance at the final fitting.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, check, or credit. A credit card fee applies if you pay by credit.
